Day 8   Hong Kong

Today you will have a free day to explore Hong Kong on your own. Once you’re in Hong Kong, you have to explore the hustle and bustle of Mong Kok. Mong Kok is Hong Kong’s most congested shopping and residential district, but don’t let that scare you away.  The neon-bathed historic streets that wind through one of the densest parts of the world are worth visiting - just for the ‘peoplescapes’ alone. It just so happens that the shopping is excellent too.

The neighbourhood includes one of Hong Kong’s most popular markets, the Ladies' Market, and also has a ton of shopping streets, which are a common feature in southern China. Conveniently, these are where a cluster of merchants sell one type of product on a single street. Mong Kok has entire streets and street sections dedicated to the sale of goldfish, flowers, birds, sneakers, and kitchenware.

If you want to see the different image of Hong Kong, you could join our optional day tour to Lamma Island Seafood Dinner + Symphony of Lights Hong Kong Harbour Show (USD$120):

We'll head over to Lamma Island, the locals' go-to place to sample the wide selection of seafood. Some of Hong Kong's best Chinese seafood restaurants are located here, side by side along the waterfront; they are extremely popular with the local residents - both Chinese and Western, During the summer months, it's full-house every night and the atmosphere is typical of Hong Kong's restaurants - noisy, crowded but always fun! Upon arrival at the island, we will proceed to the Fisher folk village. Here, you'll be able to get a glimpse of local fisher folk culture. Afterward, we'll have dinner at an award-winning seafront restaurant. After having our dinner, we'll board the ferry to catch the Symphony of Lights Show before returning to downtown.

Day 9   Hong Kong-Home

The shuttle bus will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to airport for your onward or homebound flight.
